california

We are on vacation in California!  We arrived at 2am Thursday morning and slept until 8am.  We saw Sacramento on Thursday; Jamin lived here for a few years.  We drove to San Francisco on Friday and saw Alcatraz.  I'll bore you with more trip details later; I just wanted to get a few pics up for now.

Lily has been such a trooper.  She has already put up with a lot of time in the car.  She has been pretty tolerant of getting in and out (and in and out) as we go.

San Francisco was wonderful.  We were there 3 days and 2 nights, and we saw quite a lot.  We had a great hotel, and drove all over the city to see the different neighborhoods and vistas.  It rained on and off on Saturday, but we still got to see a lot of the city.

Here is Lily, eating amazing ice cream at Ici in Berkeley.  We got Malted Banana and Candied Tangerine - they were soooo good!

Saturday night we went to the Lunar New Year Parade.  It was pretty chilly and rainy; we didn't stay too long.  Lily wasn't a big fan of the firecrackers.

Yesterday we saw the Winchester House.  See the website for the full, crazy story.  Sarah Winchester died in this room.  Check out the bright spot above her bed, against the purple curtains?  Her ghost?  www.winchestermysteryhouse.com

Today we drove down Route 1.  The sun was shining; it was a beautiful day.  We are staying over night in San Simeon.  Tomorrow we will see Hearst Castle, enjoy more of Route 1, then head down to Santa Monica/LA/etc.

Wednesday: LA
Thursday: Anaheim (Jason & Lauren are not to find out what is in Anaheim...)
Friday & Saturday: Sequoia & Yosemite Natl. Parks
Sunday: fly home
