We had a great weekend! My birthday was Friday and Anabelle's was Saturday, so we had a joint party. Jamin's parents brought over bento boxes and an ice cream cake. Lily and I baked a Strawberry Shortcake Cake (not to be confused with the doll) and it was SO yummy!

After. What is the deal? Why do I have the daintiest eaters ever? I love the usual 1st birthday pics of the kids covered in cake and frosting. Lily was the same--carefully licking her fingers and cupcake. Oh well.
This is the after-after photo. After we wiped her down we saw hives, which we have seen before with certain foods. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to her hives; we have been seeing an allergist for about 5 months.
Today I found out that Anabelle is allergic to eggs (a very strong allergy) as well as milk, casein, wheat, peanuts, and oats. This is per the initial blood test. We'll keep you posted after the scratch test...
Back to the festivities... Lily was more than happy to help Anabelle open her present. So thoughtful!

On Saturday, Jamin and his mom took the girls to a really great, kid-friendly restaurant near our house for Anabelle's birthday breakfast. This is where we took Lily on her 1st b-day. Kids in pajamas get free breakfast!
Lily and I made gingerbread snowmen cookies (the cookie cutter was pulling the dough and leaving the men without appendages, so we improvised!) This is the before photo; I wish I had the after photo--the cookies were so yummy!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY(s)! What wonderful pictures--so great to see you all! The girls couldn't be cuter and are getting so big! And Angie, your hair looks so cute! Wow, so sorry to hear about Anabelle's allergy, that must be so scary! Funny, my girls were the same way with their first b-day cakes. We had do forcefully make them smash their hands into it!
Happy Birthday to both of you...a bit late. Can you believe it's been a year since the girls were born? Kate's year is up tomorrow. Amazing. Your girls are lovely. Hope you guys are doing well.
