Presidents Day Weekend

We had a busy long weekend. Leslie, Chris and the kids came down for a visit. We had a lot of fun - Lily loves spending time with her cousins. Lauren is very good with Lily - she plays with her a lot, and babysits while I am in the middle of something. She is so helpful. It's amazing how girls have the mothering instinct built right in. Jason is usually doing his own thing and doesn't pay much attention to Lily (unless she steals a toy) but every now and then he'll come over and give her a hug and kiss.

What did we do... We had breakfast at The Pop Shop on Saturday morning. The kids were free becaus ethey wore their pajamas. (Check out the menu at www.thepopshopusa.com) Heather's new boyfriend, Mike, joined us. When we got back to the house, we sledded down the hills in our front yard on our butts and tummies! The snow was covered with ice - the kids were a riot to watch, falling down all over the place. (No one got hurt.) Chris and Jamin chipped and shoveled the ice off the sidewalks and front walk. That night we watched The Prestige - we recommend it! On Sunday, Chris and Lauren went to see the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, and Ben Franklin's grave; Jamin joined them for cheesesteaks. Today, Jamin and Chris went to lunch and to see Ghost Rider (no, I'm not kidding); Leslie, kids and I went to Adventure Aquarium, where the line to get in was ridiculously long. So instead, we drove around Rutgers, played on the playground at Chick-fil-a, and went shopping at the Christmas Tree Store. I found the sweetest table and chairs for Lily's playroom. (Which will be set up very soon now that the windows have been replaced.)

We had a great time! I am so glad that the cousins will get to be together as they grow up. Here are a couple of pics of the kids.
